Move-in Checklist
Congratulations on moving into a DoorLife Property Management property. We're excited to welcome you to your new home. Please review the details below to start your stay with us on the right foot.
First Month's Rent & Security Deposit
Your first rent payment and the security deposit are both due at the lease signing. If you have any questions, please confirm these amounts with us in advance.
Move-in Date & Inspection
We'll schedule your official move-in date and provide all relevant information about your first inspection at the lease signing.
Utilities
Please remember, you must place utility accounts in your name immediately after signing the lease. You are responsible for keeping your accounts current throughout the duration of your stay.
Call the utility company as soon as possible after the lease signing to avoid losing access to your utilities.
Move-out Checklist
We're always sad to say goodbye to good residents, but we hope you've enjoyed your stay in one of our properties. Please take care of the following as you prepare to move out of your rental home.
Notice of Intent to Vacate
Planning to move out of your rental home? Please check your lease to determine your official move-out date. We ask you to provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate, in accordance with the terms outlined in your lease.
Property Condition
Before handing in the keys for your rental home, please be sure to bring your rental back to rent-ready condition. This involves the following:
Rental Cleaning: Your home needs to be carefully cleaned. Please pay additional attention in the kitchen and bathroom(s), ensuring all hard surfaces have been wiped down and sanitized. You'll also need to sweep/mop/vacuum all floors in the rental home.
Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you regularly address landscaping chores for your rental, including mowing the lawn, take care of these responsibilities once more before moving out.
Repairs: You'll need to address any damage that's occurred during your stay. This includes patching nail and screw holes, repainting discolored walls, and replacing broken glass.
Security Deposit
Your security deposit will be returned to you following your departure. Before we return the deposit, we'll need to perform a final inspection to check for damages.
If we identify any new damage, we will schedule repairs and use the deposit to cover the associated expenses. The remainder will be returned to you.
Remember, your deposit cannot be used to cover your final rent payment. Failure to pay your last rent bill could result in adverse credit reporting and administrative fees.
